Get married in a registry office in Rastatt? No problem. However, before couples can say "I do" in the Rossi House, in the local offices or even in Rastatt Castle, some formalities have to be cleared up.
Registration of marriage
Before the wedding ceremony can take place, the engaged couple must have formally registered the marriage. With the registration, the competent registry office checks the existence of the marriage requirements.
A registration of the marriage at the registry office Rastatt as well as the local administrations is possible if one of the fiancés is registered with main or secondary residence in Rastatt or in one of the districts. The registration can take place at the earliest six months before the planned marriage. From the registration of the marriage, couples can tie the knot within six months.
In principle, the fiancées should appear in person and together for the registration. If one of the fiancés is unable to attend, he or she can declare his or her agreement to the registration by the other fiancé in a declaration of accession.
The couple will find out which documents fiancés need to register their marriage in a personal meeting or by e-mail.
Appointment reservations are accepted in writing only. Either by letter or by e-mail. The following information must be included in the appointment request:
- Desired date with indication of the desired time
- Wedding venue
- the names of both partners
- the phone number(s)
- the approximate number of guests to be expected
- explicit declaration of consent by the engaged couple for the disclosure of the above data to the Rastatt Palace Administration (applies only to appointment requests for Rastatt Palace and Favorite Palace).
If the desired date and wedding venue are available, the couple will receive a written notice of the reservation of the wedding date.
The date reservation only means that the date will be kept free. A marriage can only take place on this date if all legal requirements are met. For this reason, the registry office recommends that you find out in good time which documents must be submitted for the registration of the marriage.
Procedure of the wedding
The wedding ceremony in the registry office usually lasts between 20 and 30 minutes. In addition to the bureaucratic procedure, the wedding can be arranged individually. This requires prior consultation with the registry office.
The civil wedding ceremony begins with a welcome to the bride and groom. Subsequently, the personal data of the bridal couple and the witnesses are determined.
Afterwards the wedding room is entered and the marriage ceremony begins with the speech of the registrar. This is followed by the question of marriage consent, the exchange of rings, the first kiss as the bride and groom, and the reading of the marriage register entry by the registrar. With the signatures of the bride, groom, witnesses to the marriage and the registrar, the marriage ceremony is officially completed.
This is followed by congratulations to the bride and groom.
