Publication and transmission of residents' data
The Citizens' Registration Office of the City of Rastatt publishes and transmits residents' data in accordance with the Federal Registration Act (BMG). The Citizens' Registration Office may, according to this law:
1. Parties, voter groups and other sponsors of election proposals ...
... in connection with elections and votes at the state and municipal level in the six months preceding the election or vote, provide information from the civil register on data of groups of persons entitled to vote, insofar as the composition of such groups is determined by age. The following data shall be provided: Family name, first names with marking of the common first name, degree of doctor, current addresses and if the person is deceased, this fact. (Section 50 (1) in conjunction with Section 44 (1) sentence 1 BMG)
2. public-law religious societies transmit the following data of their members for the fulfillment of their tasks:
Family name, former names, first names with identification of the common first name, doctoral degree, religious name, artist's name, date and place of birth and, in the case of birth abroad, also the state, data on the legal representative (family name, first name, doctoral degree, address, sex, date of death as well as information blocks and conditional blocking notes), sex, current citizenships, legal affiliation to the religious community under public law, current and last previous addresses, marked according to main and secondary residence, in case of moving in from abroad also the last address in Germany, in case of moving out to a foreign country also the address abroad and the state, date of moving in and moving out, marital status limited to the information whether married or living in a civil partnership or not; additionally, in the case of married persons or civil partners: Date, place and state of marriage or establishment of civil partnership, information blocks and conditional blocking notes and the date and place of death and, in the case of death abroad, also the state. If members of a religious society under public law have family members (spouse or life partner, minor children and parents of minor children) who do not belong to the same or any religious society under public law, the registration authority may transmit the following data from them: First name and surname, date and place of birth, gender, membership of a religious community under public law, current addresses and last previous address, information blocks and conditional blocking notes as well as the date of death. (Section 42 (1) and (2) BMG)
3. the Federal Office of Personnel Management of the German Armed Forces ...
... shall, for the purpose of sending information material on activities in the armed forces, annually by March 31, provide the following data on persons with German citizenship who will reach the age of majority in the next year: Family name, first names and current address. (Section 58c (1) and (2) of the German Soldiers Act)
4. on demand ...
... The surname, first name, degree of doctorate, address and date and type of anniversary of old-age and marriage anniversaries to elected officials, the press or radio. This is done for residents of the core city by the city administration at the 70th birthday, every fifth subsequent birthday, and from the 100th birthday each subsequent birthday. Marriage anniversaries are the 50th and every following marriage anniversary. For residents in the local districts, this is done by the local administrations. (§ 50 paragraph 2 BMG)

...surname, first name, doctoral degree, address and the date and type of anniversary to the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg for the purpose of honoring old-age and marriage anniversaries by the Minister President. (Section 50 (2) BMG)
The Federal Registration Act grants the persons concerned a right of objection in Sections 36 (2), 42 (3) and 50 (5) BMG. The registration office informs citizens of this once a year by means of a public announcement. Anyone who does not wish their data to be passed on for the above-mentioned purposes is requested to inform the Rastatt Citizens' Registration Office, Marktplatz 1, 76437 Rastatt, Fax: 07222/972-7199, E-Mail: buergerbuero@rastatt.de or to the local administrations in writing. You will find a corresponding form in the appendix.
If you have already objected to the forwarding of data by the city of Rastatt at an earlier point in time, no further notification is necessary! If you move to the area of responsibility of another registration office, you must object to the transfer of data again if you wish to continue to object.
